TARUN SHARMA, MD, FRCPC, FACC

Consultant Cardiologist, Surrey Memorial Hospital

Medical Co-Director, Heart Function Clinic

I understand cardiac diagnoses can be quite complex and stressful for the patient. I understand different patient perspectives and work with patients to come up with a treatment plan that aligns with their philosophy. I help patients understand their medical problem and proposed treatment plan.

My clinical interests include general cardiology including coronary artery disease, heart rhythm abnormalities, monitoring of pacemakers. I am also interested in adult heart failure, including cardiomyopathies (such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, amyloidosis) and cardiac effects of cancer therapy.

I have completed my Internal Medicine training in Michigan, USA &  Cardiovascular Diseases training in GA, USA. I have done further sub-specialty training in Advanced heart failure, Mechanical circulatory support and Cardiac Transplantation at University of British Columbia/Vancouver.

I am board certified by both Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and  American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. I am also diplomate of American Society of Echocardiography in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography.

I am also fluent in PUNJABI and HINDI to better serve my patients.
